United Airlines Launches New Nonstop Flight from Denver to Rome

United Airlines has inaugurated its first-ever nonstop flight connecting Denver to Rome, marking a significant milestone for both the airline and Denver International Airport (DEN). This new route, which commenced on May 1, 2025, offers daily seasonal service through September 24, 2025, providing travelers with a direct link between Colorado and Italy's capital.

A New Gateway to Europe

The inaugural flight departed from DEN's Gate A27, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This aircraft features 48 Polaris business class lie-flat seats, 21 Premium Plus seats, and 188 economy seats, including 39 Economy Plus seats with extra legroom. The flight, designated as UA177, departs Denver at 5:50 PM and arrives at Rome's Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (FCO) at 12:20 PM the following day, with a flight duration of approximately 10 hours and 30 minutes. The return flight, UA178, leaves Rome at 2:20 PM and lands in Denver at 5:45 PM, taking about 11 hours and 25 minutes .

Meeting Growing Demand

Rome has been identified as Denver's largest unserved international market, with over 60,000 passengers traveling between the two cities in the past year—a 30% increase from the previous year. Italy ranks as Denver's fourth-most popular international destination, following Mexico, Canada, and the United Kingdom .
